# Is there a helpline number I can call to report a hit-and-run accident?

If you need to report a hit-and-run accident in India, these are a few helpline numbers you can call:

- **112:** This is the national emergency number and can be used to report any emergency, including hit-and-run accidents. It’s accessible from all types of phones, even without a SIM card.
- **100:** This is the traditional police helpline number and is also used for reporting hit-and-runs.

For road accidents, you may also call **1073** or **1033** (in the case of National Highways).
