# Transfer of phone number to new mobile phone

I have a Vodaphone mobile number. This is on my old phone which has a physical sim card. I a in US at present. I bought a new iPhone16e, that has only esim. I want to move my number to new phone that I can start using. Kindly inform me the procedure to do this. Thanks in advance

Dear @ravidandekar

To transfer your Vodafone India number from a physical SIM to an eSIM on your iPhone 16e while in the US, email **[esim.activation@vodafoneidea.com](mailto:esim.activation@vodafoneidea.com)** with your request, including your mobile number, iPhone IMEI, and EID (found in Settings \> General \> About). You can also try sending **eSIMregistered email IDIMEIEID** to 199 from your old phone if active in India.

After providing your consent on the call, you will receive a final **SMS** regarding the **QR Code** which you would have received on your **registered email id**. Now, go to “Settings” \> Select “Mobile Data” \> Click on “Add Data Plan” and Scan QR code received on mail.
