Dear @john_2024

I think your concern is that the staff isn’t coming into your room to administer your medication as they’re supposed to and this is causing you inconvenience and might be impacting your care.

Everyone has different preferences and comfort levels with animals. While it’s unfortunate that some staff members may be uncomfortable with your cat, it’s not appropriate for them to refuse to enter your room based on that.

  • You can explain the situation clearly and calmly. Let them know you’re concerned about the staff’s refusal to enter your room and the potential impact on your medication delivery.

  • You could suggest a designated time when your cat is away from the room, or ask if there is a staff member who is comfortable entering your room.

  • If there’s a way to manage your medication without direct staff assistance in your room, it might be a temporary solution while you work with the facility on a long-term plan.

Further, you may raise this concern with the management and seek a solution that works for everyone involved.
