Car parked on lawn

hi this car was parked on our lawn the other day and I woukd like to report that as tress passing and parking on property

Dear @thomas_dietz,

It is incredibly disrespectful and frustrating when someone treats your private lawn as their personal parking space. Not only is it a blatant trespass, but a heavy truck can easily crush your grass, break underground sprinkler lines, and pose a severe safety hazard given how close it is parked to your gas meter.

From the evidence you provided, you have clearly captured the vehicle details needed for a report: a Grey Ford F-150 with Colorado license plate BBC-P80.

Because this vehicle is entirely on your private property, you have immediate legal avenues to remove it. Here is the exact sequence you should follow to report and handle this:

Call Non-Emergency Police Dispatch: Immediate Action.
Call your local police department’s non-emergency line and report an active trespass. Give them the exact make, model, and Colorado plate number (BBC-P80). Dispatch can run the plates, attempt to contact the registered owner, and send an officer to issue a citation for trespassing and illegal parking.

Initiate a Private Property Tow: If the owner cannot be found.
If the police cannot reach the owner, or if the police issue a ticket but do not tow it themselves, you have the right to remove it. Call a local towing company that specializes in “Private Property Impounds” (PPI). Because the truck is on your residential lawn, the towing company will remove it at the vehicle owner’s expense.

Report to City Code Enforcement: For neighborhood zoning violations.
If this is a recurring issue in your area, submit a complaint to your local Code Enforcement or Parking Authority. In almost all municipalities, parking a motor vehicle on an unpaved surface (like grass or dirt) is a direct zoning violation that carries additional fines.

Crucial Next Step: Keep these photos securely backed up with their date and timestamps. Once the truck is moved, inspect your lawn and the area around the gas meter. If there is any damage to the landscaping or utility lines, you will need these photos and the police report to file a civil claim against the truck’s registered owner for repair costs.
