Complaint Against Orthowalkway in Guandong Province

I bought a pair of winter boots in my regular size US6.5 wide but the boots were too small which means their sizing is incorrect. I emailed service@orthowalkway.com requesting to return the item for a refund and to send a shipping label. Firstly, when I ordered the boots on their website, http://orthowalkway.com/), nothing was mentioned that the item would come from China and take 18 days to arrive. The website also has the word Australia which is a ploy to deceive online consumers. Orthowalkway offered to refund 30 per cent of the cost of $47.79 without returning the boots or a full refund if I pay for return shipping. I already paid for the shipping of $7.90 when I purchased the boots. Based on the shipping charge, I thought the boots were from a retailer in the United States. I declined both options because Orthowalkway was deceptive and did not state clearly in their website they are from China and shipping charges will be high and will take take almost three weeks to arrive. The quality control of Orthowalkway is poor because the boots I purchased do not fit well and there are threads hanging on the elastic part of the boots. The packaging was poor as the boots were cramped in a vacuumed soft plastic bag distorting it’s shapes. Shoes purchased from online retailers in the US are in the original box and placed in another box for shipping. My order number is 84294.

Dear @Fuziah_B_Ayub

To address your complaint about the deceptive practices and sizing issues with Orthowalkway boots (Order #84294), escalate the matter by emailing again, clearly stating that you reject their refund offers due to deceptive shipping practices (no disclosure of China origin, misleading website), incorrect sizing, and poor quality control. Demand a full refund including the $7.90 shipping cost and a prepaid return label, or you will file complaints with consumer protection authorities.

If they refuse, file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) or your respective trade regulatory and consumer protection authority in your country and China regarding deceptive online practices. You can also dispute the charge with your credit card company/bank, citing misrepresentation about product origin and return policies.
