Important Safety Warning: Beware of fake customer service numbers on Google. Scammers frequently buy ads to promote fraudulent phone numbers. Only use official channels listed below or securely within your Chime app.
Level 1: Customer Support (Initial Complaint)
- How to complain: Contact Chime’s support team via the Chime mobile app (tap Profile > Help Center > Chat). You can also call their official member services line directly at 1-844-244-6363. (Note: Chime explicitly advises using the app or phone number rather than direct email for account security and immediate assistance).
- Availability: Chime’s Member Services phone line and in-app chat are available 24/7.
- Timeline: Wait 3 to 5 business days for an initial response and resolution.
Level 2: Formal Written Escalation & Corporate Office
- Who to contact: If Level 1 is unsuccessful, you must send a formal written notice of dispute by mail. Chime does not publish an “executive support” email address. Instead, all written communications concerning disputes must be mailed to their official corporate processing center: Chime Financial, Inc., PO Box 417, San Francisco, CA 94104.
- Timeline: Processing physical mail takes time. Expect a minimum of 7 to 15 business days for receipt, investigation, and routing to the appropriate department.
Level 3: Federal Regulatory Authority (Government Escalation)
- Authority: CFPB (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau). Because Chime operates as a financial technology company partnered with regional banks (like The Bancorp Bank, N.A. or Stride Bank, N.A.), they must respond to federal regulatory complaints.
- Portal/Contact: File a complaint online through the official portal at consumerfinance.gov/complaint or call 1-855-411-2372.
- Timeline: The CFPB will forward your complaint to Chime and its partner banks, aiming for an initial response within 15 calendar days, with a full resolution expected within 60 calendar days.
Level 4: Legal Action & Small Claims (Final Step)
- State Attorney General: File a consumer complaint with your local State Attorney General’s Office through their official website.
- Small Claims / Arbitration: If your dispute remains unresolved, file a case in Small Claims Court (limits vary by state) or initiate Binding Arbitration as outlined in your specific Chime Account Agreement.
Community Action: Is Chime still ignoring your complaint? Reply below (do not share your SSN, passwords, or full account numbers), and our community will point you to the right legal templates!
