Digit Insurance: Official Grievance Redressal & Escalation Protocol

Verified: 26 July 2026 04:30 am IST

Industry: Insurance (General & Life)
Jurisdiction: India
Primary Regulator: Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI)

Important Safety Warning: Beware of the “Fake Support & Cashless Claim Scam.” Scammers frequently buy ads on Google displaying fake Digit customer service helplines. This is a scam. Digit staff and the Insurance Ombudsman will never ask you to pay a “processing fee” to approve a cashless health claim or release a maturity payout, nor will they ask for your OTP or password.

PATH A: Go Digit General Insurance (Health, Motor, Travel, Property)

Level 1: Customer Support (Initial Complaint)
How to complain: Email the central desk at hello@godigit.com or call the general toll-free helpline at 1800-258-5956. For health insurance specifically, email healthclaims@godigit.com or call 1800-258-4242 (Senior citizens can use seniors@godigit.com). For WhatsApp support, you can chat with their bot at +91-7026061234. You must ensure you receive a unique “Complaint/Reference Number.”
Timeline: The company must acknowledge your complaint immediately and resolve Level 1 issues within 15 days as per IRDAI guidelines.

Level 2: Internal Escalation (Grievance Redressal Officer)
Who to contact: If Level 1 fails or your claim is wrongfully rejected, you must escalate to the Grievance Redressal Officer (GRO) (currently Mr. Praveen Bhat). Email your formal grievance, clearly stating your original Level 1 Reference Number, to grievance@godigit.com. Written legal notices should be sent via physical post to: Grievance Redressal Officer, Go Digit General Insurance, Atlantis, 95, 4th B Cross Road, Koramangala Industrial Layout, 5th Block, Bengaluru, Karnataka – 560095.

PATH B: Digit Life Insurance (Term, Group Life)

Level 1: Customer Support (Initial Complaint)
How to complain: Email the central life insurance service desk at life@godigit.com (senior citizens and differently-abled persons should use lifespecial@godigit.com). You can also call their official toll-free helpline at 1800-296-2626 or use WhatsApp at +91-9960126126. Ensure you receive a “Complaint/Reference Number.”
Timeline: The company must resolve Level 1 issues within 14 to 15 days.

Level 2: Internal Escalation (Grievance Redressal Team)
Who to contact: If Level 1 fails, you must escalate to the Grievance Team for Life Insurance. Email your formal grievance with your Reference Number to lifegrievance@godigit.com.

Level 3: Final Internal Escalation (Grievance Redressal Officer)
Who to contact: If the Grievance Team fails to resolve the issue to your satisfaction, you must escalate to the final internal authority: the Grievance Redressal Officer (GRO) (currently Mr. Praveen Kumar NP). Email your appeal directly to lifegro@godigit.com.

Final Escalations (Applicable to BOTH General & Life)

Level 4: Administrative Mediation (IRDAI Bima Bharosa & Insurance Ombudsman)
Authority: If the respective GRO rejects your claim, or exactly 30 days have passed since your initial Level 1 complaint without a satisfactory resolution, you have exhausted internal remedies. You can escalate administrative delays to the IRDAI via the Bima Bharosa portal (bimabharosa.irdai.gov.in). If your dispute is regarding a claim rejection, premium disputes, or policy mis-selling (up to ₹50 Lakhs), you must approach the Insurance Ombudsman directly via the Council for Insurance Ombudsmen portal (cioins.co.in).

Level 5: Legal Action (Final Step)
Pre-Litigation: If the Ombudsman mediation fails, you can use the National Consumer Helpline (NCH) at 1915 for pre-litigation counseling.
Court/Arbitration: If all administrative avenues fail, you must prepare for formal litigation under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. You can file a formal complaint with the appropriate District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission entirely online using the government’s unified e-Jagriti portal (e-jagriti.gov.in).
