Emanating very huge noise pollution

I am M V.Ramani,B.A.DLL, Social Worker, aged 70 years filing this complaint before Commissioner, Greater Chennai Corpn for immediate action and providing me information as sought below.

  1. There is a housing property under demolition at Door Old No.55, Moorthy St,West Mambalam,Chennai -33 which is going on for the past 3 days ,emanating very huge noise which is above the prescribed noise level of 40 Decibel as per Pollution Board and GO 15.
  2. I am residing at New No 56,Mahadevan St just behind my flat this demolition takes place.
  3. I request the information that
    i. What are all the conditions imposed by you at the time of granting permission to this demolition.
    ii. Kindly send me your guidelines and Demolition Order.
  4. There are many chronic ill - Patients,Aged senior citizens, Pregnant women and school children nearby suffering every day. Workmen start work by 7am using Tractor and continuously using stone cutter machines and drilling machines upto 8pm.
  5. This act is highly illegal and amounting to public nuisance. They must give 2 hours gap during demolition and to use hammer to cut wall by hand not by heavy machines.
  6. I request you to treat this my electronic mode of complaint and take action before I get admitted to hospital for mental agony and torture .My mobile is 98410-12779.
  7. I request you to forward me copy of any GO stipulating conditions touching demolition of any property in the City limit. If no reply is received I reserve my right to approach Civil/appropriate forum against you seeking justice.

This mandatory notice may please be treated compliance of 80 CPC.

Request details about:

  1. Conditions set during demolition approval.
  2. Official guidelines and copy of the Demolition Order.

You may also ask for any relevant GOs on demolition within city limits. If no response, you can escalate the issue to the State Pollution Control Board through the state public grievance portal or file a petition with a civil forum as per CPC Section 80.
