Facebook just sent me to jail this morning for no reason. I did not share any posts yesterday and this morning when I wanted to share the adds of my bussiness, they sent me straight to jail, no explanation. If I cannot advertise I will loose my bussiness and have no money to live of feed my kids. I sew for a living, this is not the first time. I did not over post! I did not even postvyesterday, so why was I sent to jail! I need to advertise to get work! You are killing my small buss8ness and my income!
Dear @illana_potgieter,
I completely understand your frustration and the panic this is causing. Losing the ability to advertise your sewing business and support your family is incredibly stressful, especially when a restriction is placed on your account without any clear explanation.
First, I need to clarify a very important point to ease your worry about us: Complaint Hub is an independent citizen advocacy community. We are not affiliated with Facebook or Meta in any way. We did not restrict your account, and we do not have the backend access to unblock it. We exist solely to help guide citizens like you on how to navigate and escalate these unfair corporate system errors.
To appeal this “Facebook Jail” restriction and get your business running again, please take these exact steps:
1. Check Your Support Inbox & Account Status:
Go to your Facebook menu, tap “Help & Support,” and then “Support Inbox.” You should also check “Account Status.” Facebook’s automated bots often hide the specific reason for a block in these menus.
2. Request a Human Review:
If you find the restriction notice in your Account Status, look for a button that says “Request Review” or “Disagree with Decision.” Clicking this is crucial, as it forces a human to look at your account rather than the AI bot that likely made a mistake.
3. Use Meta Business Support:
Since you are advertising for a business, go to business.facebook.com/help. Depending on your account type, you may have access to a “Contact Support” button or live chat, which gets faster results than standard user support.
Please check your Support Inbox and reply here with the exact message Facebook gave you. We will do our best to guide you on the next steps to appeal!
