There are three ways to file a complaint with the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TANGEDCO):
Level 1: File a complaint directly with TANGEDCO
You can use the helplines of the electricity board and online support:
Online portal ( https://ccms.tangedco.org/tangedco-public/)
Visit your local TANGEDCO office (sub-station/divisional office)
Level 2: Escalate to the Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum (CGRF)
If you are unhappy with TANGEDCO’s response or if your complaint remains unresolved after a reasonable amount of time, you can escalate your complaint to the CGRF. The CGRF is a designated forum specifically set up to handle more complex consumer electricity complaints. You can file a complaint with the CGRF online or in person at their office (Division) within your electricity distribution circle.
Level 3: Electricity Ombudsman, Tamil Nadu
This is the highest level for appeals. If the CGRF’s resolution is unsatisfactory, you can approach the Electricity Ombudsman of Tamil Nadu. You can appeal by submitting a written representation letter or form to the Electricity Ombudsman at the Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission (TNERC).
