Installation
- Download the SOS App from the Google Play Store.
- Install the app on your Android device.
Setting Up the App
- Emergency Contacts: Tap the “Emergency Contacts” section and use the “+” button to add trusted contacts who will be notified in case of an emergency.
- Custom Message: In the “Send Custom Message” section, compose a message you’d like to send to your emergency contacts in an emergency.
- Local Emergency Services: Add phone numbers for local authorities (police, fire department, ambulance) in the “Local Emergency Services” section.
- Health Information: Tap “Health Information” to enter your blood type, allergies, and any medical conditions.
Using the SOS App in an Emergency
- One-Tap Alert: For immediate help, press the large “One-Tap Alert” button. This will send your pre-written custom message and location (if enabled) to your emergency contacts.
- Voice Alert: Tap “Voice Alert” to record an audio message that will be sent to your emergency contacts.
- Share Location:
- Tap “Share Location”
- Grant the app permission to access your location.
- Tap the “Share” button to send your current location to your emergency contacts.
- Emergency Siren: Tap “Emergency Siren” to play a loud siren that can help draw attention to your situation.
- Flashlight: Tap “Flashlight” to turn your phone’s flashlight on.
- Video Recording: Tap “Video Recording” to record a video and send it to your emergency contacts.
Additional Features
- Battery Monitor: Check your phone’s battery status to ensure enough power during an emergency.
- Backup/Restore: Create backups of your emergency information and restore them when needed. Use your Google account and Drive for this feature.
- QR Code: Generate QR codes for social media profiles, addresses, UPI payments, and scan other QR codes.
- DooAI Assistant Chat with the DooAI assistant for guidance and tips on handling emergencies.
Important Notes
Regularly review and update your emergency contacts and information within the app. You should test the app’s features occasionally to familiarize yourself with their use. In an emergency, remain calm and use the SOS App to get the help you need.
