If you do not have a valid shipment number, mention this explicitly and describe your issue in detail. If possible, request escalation to a higher authority or their grievances team. If you continue to face automated replies and no assistance, consider filing your complaint at consumer grievance portals such as National Consumer Helpline or your local ombudsman.
Below is a format you can use to escalate your complaint to DTDC when previous requests have failed and you lack a shipment number:
Subject: Request for Escalation - Support Required Without Shipment Number
Dear DTDC Escalation Team,
I am writing to escalate my complaint regarding unresolved issues about funds held by DTDC Australia represented by CEO Pinaki Chatterjee. My previous requests were not forwarded or resolved due to absence of a shipment number.
Kindly treat this as an urgent matter and advise further steps or direct this to the concerned authority for resolution.
I have lost faith in justice in Australia. Unfortunately, I can no longer afford to pay my lawyer because I have already spent so much money on my lawyer, witnesses, and experts. Despite proven forgery by the DTDC CEO in Australia, the magistrate in charge has not ordered the arrest of the DTDC manager. Is there no tabloid newspaper in NSW and Canberra where my case can be made public?
To bring public attention to your case regarding DTDC Australia and the alleged embezzlement, you can contact major newspapers in NSW and Canberra. The Daily Telegraph is a prominent tabloid in NSW that accepts news tips via their website. In Canberra, The Canberra Times is the primary outlet for local news. You might also consider contacting A Current Affair (Channel 9), a program known for investigating consumer fraud and justice issues.
For further action, if you have not already done so, you can report the detailed fraud to Scamwatch or the ACCC. You may also try escalating your grievance directly to the DTDC Global Media Office at gmo@dtdc.com.
Dear All. Thanks for your support. I have a big problem. My lawyer won’t give me my court case number until I have paid him in full. I had agreed with my lawyer to pay him in full if my court case was decided in my favor. My case is being heard in the Canberra Supreme Court by Magistrate Lorraine Walker. I have already tried writing to the court to ask them to give me my court case number. Unfortunately, without success so far.
Your situation is deeply frustrating, and you’re right to push back on this practice by your lawyer. The legal profession requires lawyers to provide case information to their clients as a matter of basic professional responsibility.
Your lawyer’s agreement was that payment would be made in full if you won the case. Until there is a judgment in your favor, technically the case is still active and ongoing. Withholding the case number which is a public record is inappropriate and may violate professional conduct rules.
Here are some practical steps:
Contact the Law Society directly. File a complaint with the Law Society of the Australian Capital Territory (or your state’s equivalent). Explain that your lawyer is withholding your case number despite it being a public record. This is a matter of professional ethics.
Request it in writing. Send your lawyer a formal written request for your case number. State clearly that this information is essential for you to manage your own case and that withholding it constitutes a breach of their duty to you as a client.
Contact Canberra Supreme Court Registry. Call or visit the court directly. Explain you are a party to a case before Magistrate Lorraine Walker but do not have your case number. The court registry should be able to look you up by name and provide this information, it’s public record.
Seek a second legal opinion. Contact another lawyer for advice on your situation with your current lawyer. You may have grounds for a complaint or even recovery of legal fees if your lawyer is acting unethically.
Legal Aid ACT. If cost is a barrier, Legal Aid ACT may provide free or low-cost assistance to challenge this behavior.
Don’t give up. The information you need is yours by right. Keep records of all your requests.
