Public transport in Dehradun, especially shared autos (Vikrams), is one of the most commonly used and affordable means of travel for students, office workers, and residents. However, many people are often unaware of the standard fare list, which sometimes results in overcharging by drivers.
To ensure transparency and fairness, we are sharing the local transport rate list for short routes (within 5 km) in Dehradun. This will help every citizen travel confidently, knowing the correct fare they should pay.

Dear friends, this list is prepared to bring transparency in local transportation fares in Dehradun. Many people are unaware of the official/local standard rates and end up paying more.
We request all community members to share your own area’s rate list (for Vikram/Auto/Shared transport/Magic/Taxi) in the Community. Together, we can create a transparent, citizen-driven transport rate chart for every area.
This will help:
- Prevent overcharging by drivers.
- Educate new residents and students about fair rates.
- Ensure accountability in public transport services.

As per the Constitution of India, Article 19(1)(d), every citizen has the right to move freely within India. At the same time, under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, overcharging for services can be treated as an “unfair trade practice” (Sections 2(47), 94). If any operator demands more than the notified rate, citizens have the right to report it to the Regional Transport Office (RTO), Dehradun, or file a consumer complaint.
