Safdarjung Hospital,
Opp.AIIMS main gate , New Delhi
Sir/Madam,
I am writing to you to request an ICU bed for Nazima Begum.Nazima Begum is suffering from brain haemorrhage and requires immediate ICU care.
Nazima Begum was admitted to Safdarjung Hospital on 12-02-2025. Her condition has since deteriorated and admitted into medicine ward and she now needs to be transferred to the ICU.
I am confident that Safdarjung Hospital has the necessary equipment and staff to provide the best possible care to Nazima Begum. I request you to make every effort to allocate an ICU bed to Nazima Begum.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Rizwan Ahmad
Dear @rijvan_khan_rizwan, to address the situation and ensure that Nazima Begum receives urgent ICU care, here are some practical steps you can take:
1. Contact the Treating Doctor of the Hospital:
Ensure the treating doctor provides a written recommendation for ICU transfer. This recommendation carries weight in prioritizing patients for ICU admission. Further, visit the hospital’s Medical Superintendent’s Office or Patient Welfare Office and submit the doctor’s recommendation for ICU admission. Request them to escalate the case.
2. Approach the Grievance Redressal Mechanism of Sufdarjung Hospital:
Every government hospital, including Safdarjung, has a patient grievance cell. Register your request and obtain a complaint number for follow-up. You can contact the Nodal Officer of the cell at Room No. 518 on the **5th Floor ** of the MS block/OPD building.
You can also email grcell@vmmc-sjh.nic.in. For escalation of your grievance, visit here: Public Grievance Mechanism - Safdarjung Hospital (vmmc-sjh.mohfw.gov.in)
If the hospital is unable to accommodate the request, contact the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (dghs.mohfw.gov.in) by emailing at dghs@nic.in, for assistance with bed allocation in other nearby government hospitals.
Further, you may lodge a public grievance through the state grievance portal of the Government of NCT of Delhi.
If all other options fail, contacting healthcare NGOs may expedite action due to public pressure.
