To address the refund delay from the individual you paid on 17 July 2025 via UPI, send him a written payment reminder through SMS or WhatsApp and keep screenshots. If he doesn’t refund within 7 days, lodge a complaint at your local police station under IPC Section 420 for cheating. Also report the grievance to your bank’s customer grievance cell or NPCI’s UPI Ombudsman, quoting your transaction ID. You may further issue a legal notice via registered post through a lawyer.

Further, you may lodge an online complaint with the Cyber Police through National Cybercrime Portal or calling at 1930.
