As per your case, you have made a water bill payment of ₹3000 on February 5 via UPI. The money was deducted from your bank account, and your bank confirmed that the amount has been credited to the water department’s account. However, the payment status on the water bill portal still shows it as “pending,” which indicates that the system has not updated the transaction status.
To resolve your issue, collect all relevant information:
- Transaction ID from UPI
- Bank confirmation statement showing the debit of ₹3000
- Date and Time of the Transaction (February 5, 11:40 AM)
- Consumer/Connection ID for the water bill
Then, visit or call the water department’s office in Jammu with your proof of payment or lodge an online complaint with PHED, Jammu to request them to manually verify and update the status of your payment. If your complaint is not addressed within a reasonable time (7–15 days), you can file a complaint with the National Consumer Helpline (NCH) and District Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission (DCDRC) under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 for deficiency of service.
