Subject : Complaint Regarding Cell Tower Installation Near Residential Area

Respected Sir/Madam,

I am writing this letter to bring to your attention a matter of serious concern regarding the installation of a cell tower near my residence.

The installation of the cell tower is causing distress to the residents of this area due to the following reasons:

  1. Health Concerns : There is growing apprehension among the residents regarding the potential radiation hazards associated with cell towers. It is a well-documented fact that prolonged exposure to electromagnetic radiation can pose health risks, especially for children, the elderly, and those with pre-existing health conditions.
  2. Proximity to Residential Area : The tower is located extremely close to residential buildings, violating guidelines that mandate a minimum distance between cell towers and homes.
  3. Lack of Public Consent : To the best of my knowledge, no consultation or approval was sought from this area’s residents prior to the tower’s installation.

I kindly request the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation to investigate this matter urgently. Please verify whether the installation complies with the guidelines laid down by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) and the Department of Telecommunications (DoT).

If any violations are found, I urge the VMC to take immediate action to remove the cell tower or relocate it to a non-residential area.

I am attaching photographs of the tower, its proximity to residential buildings, and signatures from fellow residents who share these concerns.

I hope you will give this matter the attention it deserves, as it concerns the health and safety of the residents in this area. Please let me know if further documentation or information is required.

You can register your complaint about the cell tower with the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation. Call their helpline at 0864-5277727 or visit their office. You can also file a complaint online through the official AP Municipal Administration website at https://cdma.ap.gov.in/en/dma-contacts . Additionally, you can report the issue to the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) via their grievance portal https://pgportal.gov.in/ .
