Noise pollution by garbage van playing Swatch Bharat loudly in Vasant Vihar residential neighbourhood

We are mostly senior citizens living in the Vasant Vihar Society, Dehradun. The Municipal garbage clearing van plays Swatch Bharat song from a blaring loudspeaker which irritates/startles the elderly in the morning hours. This is in spite the fact that most houses have dedicated garbage bins outside the houses. They should collect the garbage quietly without disturbing the peace in our neighbourhood.

To address the early-morning loudspeaker nuisance from the Municipal garbage van in Vasant Vihar Society, call Dehradun Municipal Corporation’s helpline at 155305 / +911123220016 (Mon–Fri, 9 AM–5 PM) or email mcd-ithelpdesk@mcd.nic.in, citing your society name and noise disturbance. You may also submit a written grievance to your ward councillor or use the DMC online portal.

2. Provide your details, the complaint category, subject, and description on the grievance redressal form available on the MCD website or app.

If there’s no improvement, escalate your noise complaint to the Uttarakhand Pollution Control Board via their online form.
