Dear @Deep_Narayan_Singh,

As per your case, your school cannot legally deny you an admit card for the board exams based solely on your pre-board marks. Such actions by the school violate the fundamental right to education and CBSE/ICSE/State Board guidelines. According to the rules and regulations of most educational boards in India, schools are not allowed to withhold admit cards or prevent students from taking board exams due to low marks in internal assessments.

  1. Contact the School Management: Politely approach the school principal and request an explanation for withholding the admit card. Mention that the board exams are a right for all students registered for them. Also, ask the principal to give a written statement with reason of denying to provide admit card.

  2. File a Complaint with the Board: Write an email or file an online complaint with your ICSE board along with attachments of necessary documents like pre-board results, school circulars (if any), and registration details. For this, you can use the below contact details:

    • Email: council@cisce.org
    • Phone Number: 033-22816921, 033-22816922
    • Address: Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations East Zone Office 5, Lala Lajpat Rai Sarani (Elgin Road), 3 rd Floor Kolkata - 700020, West Bengal.
  3. Legal Action (if required): If the school does not cooperate, contact the District Education Officer (DEO) in Kolkata or approach the State Child Rights Commission. You can use the Board Helpline Numbers or visit the nearest educational authority’s office.

To contact the West Bengal Commission for Protection of Child Rights, you can email at wbscpcr@gmail.com or call at +033-68246363 and WhatsApp (Message Only): 9836300300. For more help, visit the commission’s website: https://wcdsw.wb.gov.in/cpcr/contact-us/
