To report the mobile theft, block the lost mobile by visiting the Central Equipment Identity Register (ceir.gov.in) portal.

  • How to report: Visit the CEIR website and follow the instructions to report your phone as lost or stolen. You will need the IMEI number.

Along with this, I suggest that you should visit your local police station and file a First Information Report (FIR) about the stolen smartphone/mobile. Be sure to provide all relevant details about the theft, including the phone’s make, model, and IMEI number.

You can also search for your state’s police website and look for a “CCTNS Citizen Portal” or similar. This can save you a trip to the station.

  • To help with filing an e-FIR, please share your district/locality name.

Please note that reporting to CEIR helps block the phone from being used, but it doesn’t guarantee recovery.
