There’s a fake app called “Lounge Pass” that’s been fooling people who want airport lounge access. Over 450 people have lost money, with scammers taking more than ₹9 lakh. Here’s how it works and how you can stay safe:
How the Scam Works:

Shared on WhatsApp: Scammers share the fake app link on WhatsApp, leading people to fake websites.

App Tricks You: After you install it, the app asks for permission to read your SMS messages.

Steals OTPs and Alerts: Once you give access, the app reads OTPs (One Time Passwords) and other messages. This lets scammers get into your bank account and take money.
How to Stay Safe:

Download Only from Trusted App Stores: Only use the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Check the app’s name and reviews carefully.

Be Careful with Permissions: Don’t give SMS access to lounge or travel apps. Real apps don’t need this permission.

Book Lounge Access Safely: Use official websites or trusted sources like your bank’s app. Booking directly at the airport lounge is safe too.
