Where to file complaints about Aadhaar Card?

If you encounter problems with your Aadhaar card or related services such as Aadhaar card correction (name update, mobile number, address, date of birth, etc), e-Aadhaar, PVC card, online address update, e-services, biometric verification, or Aadhaar linking, follow this guide to file your Aadhaar complaints with the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI):

1. UIDAI Aadhaar Helplines:

  • Toll-Free Number: Call the Aadhaar helpline number 1947 (Available in in 12 languages from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM, Monday - Saturday; and 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Sundays).
  • Email: Send an email to help@uidai.gov.in for technical or general help.

2. Steps to File an Online Complaint:

  1. Visit the UIDAI grievance portal (uidai.gov.in).
  2. Login using your Aadhaar Number for myAadhaar services.
  3. Enter your Aadhaar details (EID or UID) and verify with OTP.
  4. Select the complaint category that best matches your issue (e.g., enrollment, update, correction).
  5. Or click “Grievance & Feedback” from the given options to open the online complaint form.
  6. Describe your issue in detail, providing any supporting documents.
  7. Submit the complaint form.

Finally, note down the reference number for future tracking. If not resolved, escalate the complaint to the Regional Office.

3. Escalation to Regional Office, UIDAI:

If your issue isn’t resolved through the helpline or online complaint, contact the grievance cell at the “UIDAI Regional Office” responsible for your state or Union Territory. You can lodge a grievance via email, phone, or in person.

Additionally, you may also resubmit your complaint by logging in to the myAadhaar service portal of UIDAI (if accessible by your account).

3. Approach to UIDAI Headquarters:
