About school denying to refund Admission fees

Dear @Nitin_Mishra

We understand your frustration regarding the non-refund of the ₹6,000 admission booking fee by Sri Chaitanya Techno School in Thane. To address this issue:

  1. Review the School’s Refund Policy: Examine any documents or receipts provided during the payment to identify terms related to refunds. Some institutions have specific policies regarding refundable and non-refundable fees.
  2. Communicate with School Authorities: Draft a formal letter detailing your refund request, referencing any verbal assurances received during the payment. Submit this letter to the school’s administration and retain a copy for your records.
  3. Approach the School’s Governing Body: If direct communication with the school doesn’t yield results, escalate the matter to the school’s governing body or management committee, presenting all relevant documentation.
  4. File a Complaint with the Education Department: Contact the Maharashtra State Education Department to lodge a complaint against the school’s practices. For this, you can lodge an online public grievance through the state grievance portal of Maharashtra.

The Department can be reached at:

  • Address: Maharashtra State Education Department, Mantralaya, Mumbai - 400032
  • Phone: +91-22-22025031
  • Email: educom-mah@mah.gov.in

If the issue remains unresolved, consider filing a complaint with the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum, as educational services fall under consumer protection laws. You can file a complaint through the E-Daakhil portal, an online platform for consumer grievances.
