i got a call around 12 today saying my mobile number will deactivated in 2 hrs and asked me to press 9 or 0 to communicate with the customer care.I got panicked and clicked 9.after clicking 9,immediately a person told that my number is linked with some criminal activities and this information is told by mumbai police.He asked my name and asked whether this number is registered to my name or not.i said yes.then he asked my age and occupation.i told him.But then i got a doubt and disconnected the call.I did not give him any other information other than my name and age .Am i in danger??? please let me know soon,i m worried.

Don’t worry these calls are common scams meant to scare people into sharing personal information. You did the right thing by disconnecting.
Additionally, you should Block the caller’s number to avoid future contact. Then, Report this nukber on Chaksu Complaint Portal to alert others.
Stay Cautious: Never share sensitive information like bank details over such calls. No genuine service provider will ask for personal details with threats of deactivation.
Further, Keep an eye on any linked accounts for unusual activity. If you lost money, report it immediately on the Cyber Crime Portal.
