Steps to file an online police complaint or e-FIR:

  1. Visit the Madhya Pradesh Police’ official website (mppolice.gov.in) or download the MPeCOP mobile app.
  2. Navigate to citizen services section.
  3. Click “Lodge complaint” to open the CCTNS citizen portal
  4. Choose “e-FIR” or “complaints” and use mobile number and your name to login or register your account.
  5. Open the online complaint form.
  6. Fill out the form with required details including:
    • Name, address, relationship to complainant, and contact information
    • Nature of the incident, the victim (if known), and accused, including their identity, with location and date & time of the Incident.
    • Stolen Property or Motor Vehicle Details (if applicable): Provide information if the FIR pertains to theft or involves a motor vehicle.
    • Evidence such as photos or videos of the incident including identity proof, document files, or any other relevant information.
    • Preferred police station where you want the FIR to be registered.
    • Detailed description of the complaint or incident with facts.
  7. Submit the form.

To file an FIR about cognizable offences (criminal activities), you have to visit the nearest local police station and contact the Station House Officer (SHO) with supporting evidence. After lodging your FIR, must obtain a copy of FIR with reference number free of cost.
