To report the Kagwad Police’s inaction, file a complaint with the Karnataka Lokayukta at https://lokayukta.kar.nic.in or submit an online grievance via the State Public Grievance Redressal portal. You may also write to the Superintendent of Police, Belagavi District, or meet them directly. Given your suspicion of political involvement, consider submitting evidence to the higher police authorities. You may also file an online e-FIR and then use this reference number to escalate the case to higher officials.
Steps to file an online police complaint or e-FIR:
Visit Karnataka Police’s official website (ksp.karnataka.gov.in) .
Navigate to the “Citizen’s desk” section.
Click “Citizen Centric Portal (policeseva.ksp.gov.in) ” to open the CCTNS citizen portal.
Login or register yourself as a citizen.
After successfully logging in, click “complaint or e-FIR” to open the online complaint form.
Fill in the form by providing all required details including:
Your information (name, address, contact)
Incident details (nature of offence, date, time, location)
Information about the victim and accused (if known)
Details of stolen property or vehicles (if applicable)
Attach supporting documents (if available)
Choose the local police station for your area.
Review your information and submit the e-FIR.
Finally, note down the reference/case number to track the status. You can also visit the nearest local police station to file an FIR with a designated police officer and obtain a copy of the FIR with acknowledgement free of cost.
