I am writing to bring to your kind attention a matter of serious concern and public interest regarding the functioning of some officials of JKPDD, particularly the concerned inspector ( mr, mohd ashraf sofi )and (mr, mohd akbar ,linemen operating in the Kralpora market area.
It has come to notice that in Kralpora market, there are around 1100 active electricity connections, but only 261 connections are officially registered and have valid agreements with the department. Shockingly, a substantial number of shopkeepers are operating without any proper registration or agreement.
What is more alarming is that the concerned inspector and some linemen are allegedly involved in illegally collecting money from these unregistered users on a monthly basis, bypassing official channels. This illegal collection is neither deposited in the department’s account nor issued with any official receipts. It appears that such funds are being misappropriated for personal gain, which amounts to serious corruption and dereliction of duty.
This practice not only causes financial loss to the department but also creates an unfair burden on genuine consumers who are paying their dues honestly. It undermines public trust and promotes illegal practices in the system.
I humbly request your office to:

Initiate an independent inquiry into this matter at the earliest.

Audit and verify all connections in the Kralpora market.

Take strict disciplinary and legal action against those found guilty.

Ensure that all power connections are properly registered and regularized to avoid future discrepancies.
