I hope this mail finds you well. I want to inform you about a critical issue which is causing problems to me and many other students from our college.
My name is Maklin Pinto, I am an Ex. Mechanical Engineering graduate from Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) Karnataka. I studied in Shree Devi Institute of Technology, Kenjar Mangalore which is under VTU.
AICTE and VTU have made NBA Accreditation mandatory for all technical courses. Attached are the circulars from AICTE and VTU for your reference.
In order for me to get an Engineering Visa from GCC countries , Especially from Kuwait society of Engineers, college is supposed to be NBA Accredited. My college Shree Devi institute of Technology is still not having NBA Accreditation till date even though many notifications were given to them via circulars from VTU & AICTE for getting accredited.
I have been following up with the college Principal and Management from the past few months yet no response is received from the college. Even after repeated mails, Phone calls and Personal visits, The request is not considered. Attached is the request mail sent to VTU & SDIT Collage for your reference.
NBA Accreditation will support many other students like me who aspire to work abroad or for their higher education. This will also help the college itself in Increasing their students’ intake and add new course with AICTE guidelines.
I ask your good selves to kindly review my data and support me to push my college for complying towards NBA accreditation. Please do let me know if you require any further details from my side.
As per your concerns about the lack of NBA accreditation at the Shree Devi Institute of Technology, I understand the importance of NBA accreditation for your career goals and the difficulties you are experiencing due to the college’s delay in obtaining it.
You should file a formal complaint with the Student Grievance Cell of the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) Karnataka. The university has an online Student Grievance portal (vtu.ac.in) where you can lodge your complaint against SDIT College.
The Student Grievance Cell is responsible for addressing student issues related to academic matters, infrastructure, and other concerns.
Thank you for your response. The matter has been already been escalated to my university VTU. However no response has been received till date even from there. This issue has been also addressed to UGC & AICTE , But no luck.
Feeling frustrated and depressed with the system of Mandating accreditation were there are no checks in place to see if collages are complying or not.
In this case, you should file a complaint against the college and university with the Higher Education Department of the government of Karnataka. You can call the toll-free helpline number 1902 or use the Janaspandana - Integrated Public Grievance Redressal System (IPGRS) portal to lodge a public grievance with the department. Follow these instructions:
I hope this can be helpful if you haven’t yet lodged a public grievance against the college and VTU.
