New TATA Nexon AMT. Battery issue

I took my delivery of the car on Aug 17th and on Sep 25th my car was not starting, the display was not working. I called the Service guy ‘Altaf’ from KVR Tata Motors in Palakkad and he said a person from the RSA team will contact me. Ramesh from the RSA team called and said he is sending a person to check the issue.

The person from RSA came and checked and said the battery is down. He applied the booster and the car started. When I asked what the issue was, he said he has to check the battery since the battery was down. I told him, car was idle for 4-5 days and in 4-5 days how come battery could go down, but he didn’t have an answer.

I went to KVR Service center the next morning and they checked the battery health and said it is all good, no issues and I can take the car back. I asked them how this issue can come in a new car and what if this comes up again. Their answer was that since I drove the car to the service center, the battery shows in good health while testing and that I have to keep the car idle and check the battery again to see the issue.

This was a contradictory statement, initially they said it is all good and I can take the car and after I asked a simple question they said the car has to be kept idle for a day to see the actual issue.

I had a big argument with the Service Operations Manager ‘Kishor’. Their explanation is, Nexon AMT has 30+sensors and the battery is continuously being utilized and that I have to start the car daily or else it will go down. I asked them, is it even practical to do this, what if I am out of station with my family then who is going to start. THen he said, not everyday but atleast once in 3 days it has to be started or if you are out of station for a long period then you have to disconnect the battery terminal. He said these things are informed during delivery time, but no one informed me anything about this during delivery, Prasson is the sales person. If they would have said that, I would not have taken the car.

I started the car yesterday and today it is not starting, not even idle for 1 days and this happened. I don’t understand what kind of vehicle is being delivered to customers who are paying such a huge amount, it’s so pathetic from TATA Motors which is a trusted brand which cannot even do a quality check. I have seen numerous complaints on the internet against TATA Motors and Nexon, so this is not something new.

Today, my car battery will taken for checkup with Exide service center and after 24hrs, I will come to know what the issue is.

What should I do as a. next step? How to escalate?
