Rash driving and harming citizens or other smaller vehicles

Rtc drivers are driving very rashly and overtaking as they like and do not follow traffic rules at all… If asked they say so casually go and complain now that they are govt. Employees they got horns and they are behaving reluctantly towards public. I think all the Rtc drivers should be removed from jobs and give employment for the youth. Because of their behaviour or someone should control their behavior timely and their should be feedback or complaint cell easily available… Request to remove the driver from service on immediately as punishment. Train them properly and if they are down with their audacity

then put them back in service. Attaching the bus number and drivers picture. Kindly do the needful.

@Amalnath_Roche Ji, you have observed that TGSRTC (Telangana State Road Transport Corporation) bus drivers are driving recklessly, overtaking dangerously, and disregarding traffic rules. When confronted, they respond with arrogance, knowing they are government employees and believing no action can be taken against them. This behavior poses a serious risk to public safety and creates inconvenience for daily commuters. There is an urgent need for strict action, proper training, and an efficient complaint mechanism to control their conduct and ensure they follow traffic rules responsibly.

In a specific incident, you captured evidence (bus number and driver’s photo) of a driver leaning out of the window while holding something, endangering passengers and other road users. You seek immediate removal of such drivers from service, proper training, and a structured feedback system to monitor their behavior before reinstating them.

1. File a Complaint with the TGSRTC and State Transport Department

Since TGSRTC buses are government-operated, the State Transport Department is responsible for their conduct. You can:

  • Submit a written complaint at the nearest RTC depot, mentioning the bus number and attaching the driver’s photo.
  • Call the TGSRTC Customer Complaint Number +914069440000 or 04023450033.
  • Use Social Media – Many State Transport Departments actively respond to complaints on Twitter/X and Facebook. Tagging them with your complaint may result in faster action.
  • Register your complaint online by following these instructions:

Make sure to include:

  • Bus number and depot name
  • Date and time of the incident
  • Nature of reckless driving or misbehavior
  • Photo evidence (if available)

The TSRTC may issue a show-cause notice to the driver or take disciplinary action, including suspension.

2. Report to the Traffic Police for Violations

Since the drivers are violating traffic laws, you can report them to the Traffic Police via:

  • The State Traffic Police Helpline
  • MParivahan or E-Challan App – If the bus has multiple violations, you can request a stricter review of its compliance.
  • Visiting the nearest Traffic Police station and lodging a formal complaint.

For more help, read: How can I file police complaint or e-FIR to Telangana Police?

If the bus has past violations or pending challans, the police can impound the vehicle and fine the driver.

3. Escalate to the Transport Commissioner for Disciplinary Action

If no action is taken at the depot level, escalate the complaint to the State Transport Commissioner.

  • Send a written petition via state public grievance registration portal.
  • Attach photos and videos as evidence.
  • Demand mandatory re-training for drivers on traffic discipline and passenger behavior.
  • To lodge your complaint online, follow this instruction:

This step may lead to policy changes, including strict supervision, refresher training, and the introduction of a public feedback mechanism.

Advice: :person_tipping_hand:t6:

If reckless driving continues to pose a significant public threat, you can file a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the High Court demanding:

  • Stricter regulations on TGSRTC driver behavior.
  • Implementation of a driver behavior tracking system.
  • Mandatory annual training for TGSRTC drivers.
  • Installation of feedback and monitoring systems in buses.

A PIL can pressure authorities into taking permanent measures to improve driver discipline. If still need help, reply to us.
