Where to file complaints of WhatsApp?

To file a complaint about WhatsApp massaging, business, and payment services, such as account suspension, business services, WhatsApp UPI payments, transaction failures, unauthorized transactions, or technical glitches (app crashes, blocked accounts, or connectivity problems), follow this guide and use the provided helplines & contact methods:

Contact WhatsApp Support:

You can report a problem with WhatsApp messaging services in the WhatsApp app by navigating" WhatsApp Settings > Help > Contact Us". Describe your issue in detail and attach screenshots if relevant.

For all questions related to WhatsApp Messenger, you can also file your complaint online to the support team by submitting an online complaint form provided on their official website. For this, visit the contact page (whatsapp.com), click “contact us”, fill out the online form with the required details and your issue, and submit the form.

If you have complaints about WhatsApp Business, email your concerns to smb_web@support.whatsapp.com with all supporting evidence. You can also get help from the “Help Center” and the virtual assistant if provided by WhatsApp.

In case of problems related to WhatsApp Accessibility and assistive technical services, email accessibility@support.whatsapp.com.

WhatsApp Payment (UPI) Support:

For any complaints related to WhatsApp payment (UPI) services in India, such as payment failure, no transactions, or blocked UPI, call the toll-free helpline number 18002128552 to lodge your UPI complaints.

You can also get In-app Help by navigating “WhatsApp Settings > Payments > Help” and filling out the online complaint form. Don’t forget to note down the reference/ticket ID to track the status of your complaint.

Additionally, you can also contact their Payment Service Providers (PSP) (HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, and SBI) for disputes related to UPI transactions.

Escalation to Grievance Officer:

If your previous complaint remains unresolved or have disputes related to privacy violations, escalate it to the appointed Grievance Officer for WhatsApp. Provide your previous complaint reference ID, express your dissatisfaction with the resolution and submit the online complaint form or send the grievance letter here:

  • Email: grievance_officer_wa@support.whatsapp.com
  • Postal Address: WhatsApp, LLC, Attention: Grievance Officer, Unit B8 and B10, The Executive Center, Level 18, DLF Cyber City, Building No. 5, Tower A, Phase III, Gurgaon – 122002.

Law enforcement agencies (as a statutory, government, or legal body) may also directly contact the officer to send any legal notices or “request any information” for any specific cases.

For violations of consumer rights, you can also file a consumer complaint against WhatsApp with the National Consumer Helpline (NCH) of the Department of Consumer Affairs. If your complaints related to banking and payment services are not resolved within 30 days, approach the Banking Ombudsman of RBI with supporting documents.

Finally, legal counsel can help you send official notices to WhatsApp, which can be done electronically and is recognized by Indian courts.

:tipping_hand_man:t5: Tips: Remember to keep records of all communications for reference and be patient as complex issues may take time to resolve. Approach appellate authorities only after exhausting WhatsApp’s internal channels.

Still, have questions? Ask by replying to us. :point_down:t5: We will help you.
