Xiaomi despite in warranty asking money for repair

I bought Xiaomi’s Mi pad 6 tablet

But just within 1 year of purchase (that is just after the warranty) it’s display created a spot though i am using it very carefully and for reading purposes only no heavy gaming at all. but still it’s display created a faulty issue.

Now, Xiaomi India service centre says you need to pay for repair.
