How can I file complaints about government offices to Public Grievance Redressal Department (Jan Shikayat) - Chhattisgarh?

If you have complaints about public services, government offices (panchayat, municipal corporation, Nagar Palika/Parishad, police, food supply, etc.), departments, and ministries of Chhattisgarh, lodge an online public grievance to the Appellate Authority of respective departments through “Jan Shikayat - Public Grievance Redressal System” of the government of Chhattisgarh.

You can complain about government schemes, demand for new services/infrastructure (hospitals, schools, drainage, roads, bridges, etc.), corrupt practices or misuse of power by officials/employees, and other disputes (Land records, universities, property disputes, public transportation, food supply, etc.).

:tipping_hand_man:t5: Note: For issues related to municipal corporations, call the toll-free helpline 1100 or use the Online Grievance Redressal Tracking System.

Steps to file an online complaint:

  • Visit Jan Shikayat grievance portal (janshikayat.cg.nic.in).
  • Click the link for grievances related to Chhattisgarh State to login/register your account.
  • Create an account if you’re a new user, or log in with your existing credentials.
  • Click “Complaint Registration” from the menu.
  • Fill out the form with all required details, including concerned department and district, subject of your grievance, and description of your issue (up to 1800 characters)
  • If applicable, upload any supporting documents.
  • Click “Submit” to register your grievance.

Finally, note the registration or acknowledgement number provided. To check the status of your complaint, use the “know application status” feature. If your grievances are not resolved, re-submit the online complaint to escalate the case to higher authorities:

  • First Appellate Officer: The Public Grievance Officer.
  • Second Appellate Officer: The Head of the Department or Secretary.
  • Chief Minister’s Office (CMO)

If your grievance isn’t resolved, you can log in again and either register a reminder or use the “PG portal application details” feature to file an appeal.
