If you want to file a police complaint or e-FIR to Andhra Pradesh (AP) Police including issues related to crimes, administration, theft (properties, jewellery, smartphone, luggage, etc.), illegal activities, police grievances, and other civil/criminal incidents including non-cognizable and cognizable offences, follow these steps and use the provided contact details:
File a police complaint or e-FIR:
You can file a police complaint or e-FIR online through the CCTNS (Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems) portal of the AP Police. The online e-FIR option is available for non-cognizable offences (where police cannot arrest without a warrant) and cases with unknown accused. For cognizable offences (where police can arrest without a warrant) or complex cases, visit the nearest local police station and submit an FIR.
In case of a police complaint, you can report any incident including cognizable and non-cognizable offices. Follow these steps to make a police complaint or e-FIR with the state police.
Steps to file an online complaint/e-FIR:
- Visit the Andhra Pradesh Police Citizen Services portal (citizen.appolice.gov.in) or use the AP Police Seva app.
- Navigate to the “Citizen Services” section from the menu.
- Click “Lodge a Petition” to log in to your citizen account or register yourself.
- Open the online complaint form.
- Provide accurate details about yourself, the incident, and any involved parties.
- Include relevant dates, times, locations, and a clear description of the events.
- Attach supporting documents (photos, videos, etc.) if available.
- Submit the form.
Finally, note down the reference/case number to track the status. You can also visit your nearest police station to lodge a formal complaint or FIR and provide a written statement and any evidence you have to the designated police officer or SHO. Don’t forget to obtain a copy of FIR free of cost.
If your initial complaint isn’t resolved satisfactorily, escalate it through the appropriate channels (Superintendent of Police, Deputy Inspector General, etc.).
