Escalation & Arbitration
If you’re unsatisfied with the resolution provided by NSE, you can escalate your case to higher authorities:
- Online Dispute Resolution (ODR): NSE and other stock exchanges provide an arbitration mechanism via the SMART ODR Portal, where disputes can be arbitrated between you, the investor, and the market participant.
- Arbitration Appeal: If arbitration is unsatisfactory, you can file an appellate arbitration. This involves submitting a claim following the dispute resolution and arbitration process.
To know more about arbitration, visit the “Arbitration/Appellate” section of the NSE’s website.
Appeal to SEBI
If your complaint is not resolved at the exchange level, you can approach the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).
You can file a complaint on “SEBI’s online SCORES portal” with all supporting evidence and reference numbers of the previously lodged complaints.
SEBI will address your grievances related to stock exchanges, brokers, and other capital market participants.
