To file an electronic First Information Report (e-FIR) or complaint with the Delhi Police, please follow these steps:
Police Complaint or e-FIR
Step 1: Access the CCTNS Platform
Access the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) platform through the “Online Citizen Service of Delhi Police”, which is integrated with the Delhi Police for lodging complaints and e-FIRs.
Step 2: Select the e-FIR Option
Choose the “File a complaint” or “e-FIR” option on the CCTNS portal. This facility is available only for cases with unknown accused or Non-Special Report (Non-SR) cases.
Step 3: Provide Incident Details
Enter the necessary details related to the incident, including the date, location, and description of the event.
Step 4: Complainant Information
Fill in your personal information as the complainant, such as name, and current and permanent address.
Step 5: Attach Supporting Documents
If available, attach supporting documents, images, or videos that can substantiate your report.
Step 6: Review and Submit
Review all the information entered for accuracy and submit the e-FIR. Ensure to note down the FIR number or download the acknowledgement receipt for future reference.

To report a cybercrime, know “Where can I file a cyber crime complaint?”
Also, ensure to get a copy of the FIR or information/application filed at the police station (for both cognizable and non-cognizable offences). If your complaint isn’t addressed within the prescribed time by Delhi Police, you may escalate the matter to these higher police officials in your region.
