Where to file electricity complaints of Meghalaya Electricity Board (MEECL)?

Steps to file a complaint online:

  • Visit the MEECL’s official website (meecl.nic.in)
  • Open the online complaint form provided by the Meghalaya Electricity Board
  • Fill out the required details such as customer ID (if required), type of complaint, and description of the electricity issue with supporting documents such as bills, screenshots, or photos of the incident.
  • Submit the form and note down the reference ID.

If still not resolved, you can also escalate the case to the Executive Engineer (EE) or Assistant Executive Engineer (AE) of the Internal Grievance Redressal Cell at the divisional or sub-divisional offices of the electricity board.

Escalation to Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum (CGRF):

If your complaint is not resolved to your satisfaction, you can escalate it to the Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum (CGRF) of MEECL by downloading the grievance form, filling it out, and submitting it to the CGRF office.

In case the Electricity Ombudsman’s decision is not satisfactory, you have the right to appeal to the Appellate Tribunal for Electricity (for commercial disputes) or the High Court of Meghalaya.
