Where to file complaints about UPPCL electricity services?

If you want to file complaints about electricity services of UPPCL from its zonal Discoms (including Agra Zone (DVVNL), Lucknow & Ayodhya Zone (MVVNL), Meerut Zone (PVVNL), Prayagraj & Varanasi Zone (PUVVNL), and Kanpur City (KESCO)), follow these instructions:

UPPCL Customer Care

To file a complaint about electricity services, you can contact UPPCL’s customer care helpline.

  • The UPPCL helpline number is 1912 for general complaints, and for online bill payment support, you can call +919513438004.

Steps to file an online complaint

  • Visit UPPCL Website: Go to the official UPPCL website (uppcl.org) and submit an online complaint form or use the UPPCL app.
  • Select Complaint Option: Choose the ‘Online Electricity Complaint’ section.
  • Fill Out Form: Provide necessary details like UPPCL account number, location, and nature of the problem.
  • Submit & Track: After submission, note the reference number to track the status of your complaint.

Remember, if your issue isn’t resolved, you can escalate it to the Internal Grievance Redressal Cell or CGRF.

Escalation to Consumer Forum (CGRF)

If your issue is not resolved, you can escalate it to the Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum (CGRF). Contact details for the CGRF offices are available on the UPPCL and respective Discoms websites.

You may need to provide details such as your service connection number and the nature of your grievance with acknowledgement receipt or ID of previous complaints.

Appeal to Electricity Ombudsman

For unresolved complaints or dissatisfaction with CGRF’s decision, you can approach the Electricity Ombudsman, Uttar Pradesh. You must file a petition within 30 days of CGRF’s final decision or expiry of the resolution period.

If needed, further escalation steps include filing a petition to UPERC or approaching the respective regulatory authority or high court of Uttar Pradesh.
